Tree Huggers Trading Co. is the culmination of several lifelong dreams. A quiet life in the mountains, running our own business, supporting the community and local makers, and a love of food. When the opportunity to purchase this shop presented itself, we jumped at the chance and began brainstorming our ideas. Out of that came a gift shop that blends new and vintage items, clothing, food and a coffee house using as many local artisans and makers that we can find. For the locals, we want to provide a place to go. For visitors, we want to offer unique finds that are truly Colorado. For everyone, we want them to enjoy excellent coffee and friendship.

About Us
Having known each other in Kansas during high school, Jen and Rick reconnected later in life and married in 2017. Jen’s career started with bedside nursing and transitioned to clinical research at Washington University-St. Louis where she led a team of analysts in support of cardiothoracic clinical trials. Prior to joining Jen in St. Louis, Rick spent a career in the Army and then worked as an operations analyst and program manager. Jen and Rick came to Allenspark from St. Louis in 2018 hoping to make the second half of their lives different and better than the first. When she’s not in the shop, Jen works for the medical device company, Medtronic supporting their clinical research efforts. Rick spends his time at the shop and volunteering for the Allensspark Fire Department.
